Wednesday, November 11, 2026 is a working day on the UPS calendar, listed as open across all services with pickup and delivery available, so does UPS deliver on Veterans Day gets a plain yes. Your package can arrive that day.
The catch is that USPS is closed. That can slow a few UPS products that finish with a postal carrier. Below is how each service is handled and what to do if something was due.
Does UPS Deliver on Veterans Day in 2026?
Veterans Day is a federal holiday, and the Office of Personnel Management puts it on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. UPS does not treat it as a closure. The UPS holiday shipping schedule says pickup and delivery services are available on that date.
UPS also lists November 11 among its normal operations days for 2026, alongside Presidents Day and Juneteenth. That is different from Labor Day, MLK Day and Christmas Day, which are full closures.
Ground drivers, Air services and international shipments all run as usual. If a package shows a November 11 delivery date, you should expect it to arrive.
UPS Service Status on Veterans Day 2026
The table below uses the UPS 2026 holiday operations schedule and holiday shipping page. UPS does not break out every product by name, so the rows follow the categories UPS publishes.
| Service | Wednesday, November 11, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Domestic Ground | Open, normal pickup and delivery |
| Domestic Air (Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air and similar) | Open, normal pickup and delivery |
| International services | Open |
| UPS Ground Saver | Runs, but needs one additional business day in transit |
| UPS Mail Innovations | Runs, but needs one additional business day in transit |
| UPS Express Critical | Available, as it is every day of the year |
| The UPS Store | Independently owned, so hours vary by location |
The same schedule applies to pickups. A scheduled pickup or a driver’s stop at your business is not canceled just because USPS is closed.
Does UPS Run and Work on Veterans Day for Business Customers?
Yes, and the answer to whether UPS delivers on Veterans Day is the same for business accounts. If you ship from a warehouse or home office, your regular pickup is on the schedule. You do not need to request a special pickup.
Shippers sometimes assume the whole supply chain pauses because banks and post offices close. UPS does not pause. For pickups, delivery and sorting, the published answer is yes.
If you sell online, build the one business day Ground Saver delay into your estimates. Do this for orders that cross the holiday. Customers who pick the cheapest option are the ones most likely to see it.
Why Ground Saver and Mail Innovations Are Different
UPS Ground Saver and UPS Mail Innovations are economy products. UPS describes Ground Saver packages as “delivered by UPS and the USPS,” with delivery Monday to Saturday and transit comparable to Ground plus one to two business days. The postal leg ties them to the federal calendar instead of the UPS one.
UPS says these deliveries need one additional business day in transit because of the federal USPS holiday. In plain terms, plan on a one business day delay if your Ground Saver package crosses November 11.
UPS does not publish a list of ZIP codes or routes where the handoff happens. That means you cannot tell in advance whether your own package is affected beyond that general rule. Treat the delivery estimate as a window, not a promise.
How Tracking Dates Shift Around November 11
For standard Ground, Air and international services, the delivery date should not move because of Veterans Day. UPS counts the day as a normal business day in its own network.
For Ground Saver and Mail Innovations, the extra business day is the rule UPS states. UPS does not say how each tracking screen will word the change, so use the estimate shown on your own tracking page.
If your date moves later by a day, that is consistent with the stated rule and is not a lost package. A package that goes several days with no scan is a different matter and deserves a call.
What Happens Before and After the Holiday
Tuesday, November 10 and Thursday, November 12, 2026 are not listed as holidays by UPS. Both are normal service days.
- A package due Tuesday should arrive Tuesday.
- A Ground package due Wednesday should arrive Wednesday.
- A Ground Saver package due Wednesday is the one most likely to slip to Thursday or later.
Weekend deliveries work the way they always do. If you need to know how Saturday and Sunday fit in, see our guide on whether UPS delivers on weekends.
What to Do If Your Package Was Due on Veterans Day
Start with the tracking page and wait until the end of the delivery day before you worry. A package that still shows “Out for Delivery” in the evening is on a truck, not missing.
- Check the status. “Out for Delivery” on November 11 means it is on its way.
- If the package is Ground Saver, add one business day to the estimate before you contact anyone.
- If tracking has not moved by the end of Thursday, November 12, contact the shipper or UPS with your tracking number.
- If the package is time sensitive, ask the sender about upgrading future shipments to a faster service.
To compare dates for a shipment you are planning, use the delivery time estimator.

Does UPS and FedEx Deliver on Veterans Day?
Readers often ask whether UPS and FedEx behave the same way. They are close, but the wording differs. In its 2026 holiday schedule, FedEx lists Veterans Day as Modified Service, with FedEx Office open and Custom Critical and Logistics open.
FedEx defines Modified Service as early on call pickups and drop box pickups, including drop box closures, in some areas. The schedule does not say which FedEx services deliver, so check your tracking for a FedEx package.
USPS is the one that stops. It follows the federal calendar, so regular mail is not delivered on November 11, 2026. You can read more about how UPS handles the nearby holiday in our full Veterans Day schedule for UPS, which also covers store and customer center hours.
Does UPS Deliver on Veterans Day in 2027?
Veterans Day falls on Thursday, November 11, 2027. UPS has not yet published its 2027 holiday schedule for that date, so there is no confirmed status yet. UPS has treated the day as an operating day in 2026, but check the UPS schedule closer to the date.
For comparison, UPS lists closures on days like Labor Day and Christmas. Our guide to Columbus Day delivery shows the same pattern for another federal holiday.
The closure side of the calendar is covered in what UPS does on Christmas.
Bottom Line
Does UPS deliver on Veterans Day? It runs a normal delivery day on November 11, 2026, with Ground Saver as the exception. Ground Saver and Mail Innovations carry a built in delay because they depend on the USPS calendar.
