About Postal Guidance

Plain-English answers to every postal, mailing, and shipping question, backed by current rates and real research.

Postal Guidance is a free resource that helps everyday senders and small online sellers make sense of the postal world. If you have ever stared at a tracking update that made no sense, wondered how many stamps a letter needs, or tried to work out the cheapest way to ship a box, this site is built for you.

Why we built this

Postal information is scattered, full of jargon, and often out of date. We pull it together in one place and explain it the way you would want a knowledgeable friend to explain it: clearly, honestly, and without the fluff.

What we cover

Nine core areas, from tracking and delivery status to stamps, shipping costs, mailing rules, packing supplies, international customs, and what to do when something goes wrong. On top of the guides, we build free calculators and checkers so you can get an answer in seconds instead of digging through a rate chart.

How we keep it accurate

Our tools run on current USPS retail rates, and every price lives in one dated place so it stays current when the Postal Service updates its pricing. Where a figure is an estimate rather than an exact published rate, we say so plainly. Being accurate matters more to us than looking authoritative.
